Walmart (Spark) and Amazon (Flex) delivery services

Forgive me if I’m behind in this, but I live in BFE rural Louisiana and experienced it for the first time yesterday. For the first time ever, I placed an online shipping order and got same day delivery.
Apparently, Spark and Flex are similar to DoorDash and Uber. Drivers download an app, go through a simple process, and start doing same day delivery for the two retail giants. I can see this working in areas like mine for Walmart because of the number of brick and mortar stores that they have. I don’t know if Amazon can pull off same day delivery in my area.
I asked the driver a couple of questions, and it seems that it’s a combination of increased convenience for customers along with Walmart being tired of the inefficient FedEx.

FedEx is absolutely the worst in my neighborhood by delivering to wrong addresses, dropping packages and not delivering on "out for delivery" days.

I drove for Flex back in 2019. You deliver Amazon packages in your own personal vehicle and get assigned different routes each shift. One time I had to deliver packages in New Orleans East (area in between Downman Rd and Crowder Blvd). My backseat and trunk were full of packages and here I was driving around one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country. I still don't know why I didn't quit then and there.

I only recently due to remodeling the pharmacy have had to go inside a Wal Mart in the last couple of 3 years. The discount on gas and free Whopper every quarter of the year are nice little features of the Wally World app. We live just over 1 mile from 1, and within delivery of 4 including superstore and neighborhood markets (BK between us and WM).
