That link still says the student must be enrolled for the entire school year which she said she would not be.
Early grads are still considered enrolled for entire SY for this purpose. It means, you cant drop out.

I can see where you’re coming from with using it as leverage but I just don’t think it’s necessary.
School boards do the “Resign or we’ll fire you.” more than people realize. If Kiran is correct, it’s already happening.
The poster, I think it was you Teke, that mentioned using a lawsuit to pressure the school board so he doesn’t weasel his way into another position or contract job is on the money.
He screwed up, he’ll be gone soon enough. Let him have his pension. He likely hasn’t been there long enough to get full Drop so the pension won’t be anything to brag about anyway.

He opened up LPSS to a massive lawsuit through fricking up in his handling of this.
He wanted to upbraid the girl for thinking about the consequences of what she did? He sure doesn’t seem to be heeding his own advice.

some people want to see this man absolutely ruined.
That's the problem I have with most of the comments. They are out for blood. And I have to wonder if it's because he pulled the endorsement & the SG position, or is it because he pulled religion into it.

How do we know what was said in the meeting?
Did the girl record it all
He acknowledged in his reinstatement letter everything she claimed. Even inflicting his religious beliefs on her. Dumb arse. Slam dunk for a federal lawsuit.

IF he goes away, whatever he’s earned he should keep.
If he wants to pretend like he did nothing wrong, he can roll the dice on his chances in court.

Here we go with the name calling again. You guys are so fricking immature and lost. You can't just present your argument and accept that someone may have another or simply disagree with them. You have to be the keyboard warrior and act like a 5yr old. You mind as well call us poo poo heads or something. At least make it funny.
All you've done all day is shitpost then melt like a baby when people gave it back to you. Boo frick hoo. Might the be the most pathetic thing I've seen in this thread.

quote:Then why wouldn’t they just let him resign. Put out a statement that he believed that it was best that he resign to avoid the incident being a lasting distraction for the school.
Maybe they're allowing him to save some face by taking a permanent leave instead of being fired.
The “leave of absence” idea is him hoping that he can manage to keep his job with a few months for most people to forget about the incident and the student involved having graduated already.

I don’t think he’s done himself any favors by not sincerely understanding his mistake. His half arse apology was almost as bad as the mistake itself.

You mean, exactly what you are doing right now?

If he resigns does he lose his medical benefits for he and his family as well as his tenure? I wonder how many years he has left to reach his 30 years

Nope. I'm not the one acting surprised by normal internet things in this thread and pretending to have some moral high ground.

People generally are further angered when wrongdoers act like sanctimonious hypocrites instead of owning their mistakes. Playing ignorant about this basic dynamic of humanity doesn’t win you any favors FWIW, and is why you’re getting dunked on in this thread for your shilling.
He should have to pay personally for whatever damage it is determined that he did. Not the parish government, not any other entity, HE should. If that requires taking his pension then too bad. If it doesn’t then sure leave it alone.
Posted on 10/9/23 at 2:24 pm to Tiger Prawn
The school district should just accept his resignation, and allow him to go work wherever. If that is in another school district, so be it. Let that district decide if what he did was worth losing his career over it. People who have zero skin in the game want to give him Hamas treatment, logical people just want him to go away into the sunset and find a different place to work.

I don’t agree with stripping his pension if he’s worked enough years to earn it. I do agree he shouldn’t be principal anymore.
Bunch of BS. People who dont like your opinion downvote you.
People want to strip this guys pension for a couple mistakes he made
Everyone agrees he should be fired
This girls scholarship is so good no one can provide full details

Can only speak for me, but I said he can keep his contributions. His pension was earned in part by agreeing to abide by the rules of governmental ethics. He very clearly has not done that. There are consequences for his actions. Am I pushing for him losing his pension, no. Will I lose sleep over it if it happens? Also no.
