This is just for publicity and politics. The flood victims from 1983 won a suit that is more cLear cut and still don't have any money. So if you win, you won't get paid. So why sue?

He's right. Look at the Juban Crossing thread. One side wet, the other side dry. Obvious!

Was there intent or negligence? Was this "1000 year event" foreseeable?

how does this impact the speed of settlements by the insurance companies with the policy holders?

Someone has to do something to get attention for this disaster. It's unreal that the front page of national and local sites (including this one with a headline about Fournette's Damn ankle) is not assigning this as a Katrina type event. Without attention, these non-flood insurance homeowners stand little chance of getting a full federal response.

He is 100% correct on the wall causing a flooding event.

I rode my truck south of the wall and there was water 5' high north of the wall. The crazy thing is, it screwed people north, and saved peoples homes on buddy ellis and just south of the wall.

It was very weird to see and astounding how much that wall held water back. It also created a hell of an issue trying to get my boat to get to my parents south of the interstate. current under the overpass at Denham was too dangerous to take by boat.

Why does Walker have a mayor or need a mayor? I asked the same thing not long ago about Pearl River when it came out the guy was saddled with corruption.

That wall saved my home. I live just south of tve interstate in Walker and we had water touching our slab with the wall. Had it not been there we'd have been above my roof. I feel very sorry for the people north of i12 and spent the entire day helping a friend clean up thier place from a total loss, but like I told him, had I flooded too, there Would be no one who stayed dry to help.

No, because there isn't one. The south side of Juban Crossing had a ton of water too.

It is a catch 22. I don't think walker and north Juban would have flooded had the wall not been there. In my opinion the damage was worse by holding the water back vs letting it get south and out.

It did create a travel lane for the national guard to get to Denham. However, it prevented boats from accessing south of the interstate due to high danger currents where the water was able to pass through.

As someone who watched the water rise a foot an hour while rescuing friends from behind autozone north of 12 BEFORE the water even got to the wall I can tell you it didn't CAUSE the flooding, because everywhere was taking water, but It did let it rise to levels it did.

It prevented the water from getting out of the higher areas and caused flooding in homes that would not have seen water had it not been backed up by the wall.

Not arguing that Walker doesn't have shitty drainage base case.

I wonder if this made some of the flooding south of i12 on range worse.

Basically all that water that would normally flow across the interstate but was funneled back to range ave
