My eyes are starting to get shitty and I have an eye appointment coming up. My work doesn't have specific vision insurance, but some sort of discount for being affiliated with MetLife. Would it be a good idea to pick up some separate vision insurance on my own for about $12 a month? It would lower my eye exam cost and lenses/frames when it comes to it. Can anyone recommend a vision insurance plan for individuals? Thank you

make sure there are no any pre existing disqualifications and/or timeline before it kicks in. if there is timeline, how long is it? not that $12/month is going to break your bank, but knowing you have a certain amount of time before you can use it is a lot better than thinking you can use it and you cant.

It says if I sign up today I can use the benefits beginning on the 11th. Would rather be able to to use them this week but I will just reschedule my eye exam for the 11th or later.
