Some of my grandkids share a Bataan Survivor as their Great Grandfather with my dad who ended up in the 11th Airborne (who liberated the camps in the Philippines) after he fought at Okinawa.

We did but the individuals who committed atrocities against US prisoners largely got off with no consequences. Not exactly the same for Germans who did the same. I realize you can’t get everyone, but at least get some of the guys in charge. They were brutal especially with some of these experiments they performed on prisoners.

You’re referring to Shiro Ishii and the Unit 731 atrocities. He should’ve been slowly dipped in boiling cooking oil for what he committed.
“Ishii was later granted immunity in the International Military Tribunal for the Far East by the United States government in exchange for information and research for the U.S. biological warfare program”
