The problem is when the rivers are too high not too low.
If too high the boats can't get under bridges and they bus you to a replacement boat further along the journey.

My parents friends just got back. The Danube is at a record low so they ended up on busses for large portions of the trip. The online reviews from mid August are pretty funny.

I cruise each Spring with a group of Tigers (about 25) ... a couple of Vikings and last year Wind Star. Next year we're on Crystal, which even an OT Baller could appreciate.

I’m old enough to know better, 69 this week. The cruise was 9 days along the Rhone with multiple cities visited after 3 days in Paris which we added on and Viking handled everything. Will be doing a cruise next year that will include a visit to Amsterdam. It cost us less to take this cruise than it cost to travel to and spend 7 days in paris in ‘94. We got way more bang for the buck this time!!!
Adding: we docked in a new city each day and had a guided tour of the cities highlights, then on our own. Was fabulous. So much interesting history.
