No, he called Hayes a coward.

While I do think Smith told Hayes he had a gun and was reaching for something in his vehicle, Hayes wildly fired multiple shots while Smith's back was turned.

He is a coward and deserves to go to prison for murder. It just wasn't 1st degree like some people want to believe.

I mean does it really matter if Smith rear ended him? Yes, he may have been in the wrong there, but is that worth killing a guy over?

I have questions about whether or not Hayes was actually rear ended. The reporter said "possibly rear ended by smith." The video doesn't really look like the cars made contact, although it is really close so I can't tell for sure.
But can't they just look at the front of Smith's car and the back of Hayes' for a dent, scratch, paint swap? Also, why was Hayes abruptly stopping in the street?

Not that it really matters all that much. Getting rear eneded doesn't consitute murder.

This is the question I have as well. Is that a red light intersection?

Yes, but he was pretty far from the light to be stopping and Smith drove right through it so it had to have been green or had just turned green.

It was just before magazine turns into a one way.

When I originally looked at it I thought the same. But the more I watched the more it seemed like it was close but no contact.

It's pretty apparent he'll never play for the Saints though

Hey how about you don’t rear-end someone and then speed off, and you won’t get murked out on the streets.

You think Smith ever listened to rap music that glorified this #KeepingItReal mentality? Looks to me like this is just another day in the thug culture they glorify and constructively condone.

It doesn't appear that they were anywhere close to a red light, because you can see that Hayes had plenty of room to pull his car to the right afterwards. This seems like Hayes was trying to provoke whomever he first thought was in that Mercedes.

Lester Earl posted a pic of the intersection last night. It is a weird intersection with a red light.

It's a very odd intersection. The road goes one way there and ends, so you have to either turn left, which is a 45 degree angle to the left, or a standard 90 degree right turn. The actual line to stop is further back right there.

People who listen to music that glorifies #ThugLyfe, that's who.

Who did you think I was talking about?

So Smith hit Hayes' car and ran, causing Hayes to follow him. This led to an eventual confrontation which was not premeditated or planned out, in which Hayes fired 8 bullets into a vehicle at two people form point blank range.

Still sounds like 2nd degree murder to me.
