How does the video suggest that?
I'd say the video suggests he thought the shots were coming from inside which would suggest coming from hostage taker.

What in the video would suggest he knew there were cops there? Why would he pull a gun if he's the hostage and knew cops were there? If he knew cops fired the original shots, why would he take cover, then leave cover into an open space?

Again, as I said, we have no idea what his actual thoughts were, i'm just stating that from watching the video, I saw nothing to suggest he knew there were cops out there, and what I did see, actually suggested the opposite IMO.

The man had gun in hand and ran out of the building
Watched the video a few times, it appeared every time that he ran out of the building with no gun in hand. He took cover behind the left rear of the truck and while he was going into that cover position is where it appears he pulls a gun from his hip area.

So he, from what i can tell, ran out of the building with no gun in hand.

Whether he pointed the gun isn't that relevant. The man had gun in hand and ran out of the building. This isn't exactly "hostage" behavior.

He didn't have a gun in his hand when he ran out of the building.

Exactly. He thought the shots were coming from inside from the gunman. That's the only reason to go behind the truck and turn towards the building. When he did that he actually put himself out in the open to the cops and even had his back to them. This guy had no idea the cops were there.

3:15: Guy comes out the door, shots immediately are fired at him and he falls

The shots sounded different then the ones from the officer. More then likely the first shots are coming from inside by the armed man.

I don't know for sure, but I am pretty sure that the audio is purely radio traffic which is being broadcast on the radio in the car, other then the gun shots of course. Whether or not he was told to drop his weapon or not can't be proven based on that video. The officers commands won't be picked up unless one of them has their radio cued.

While it is possible that what you are saying could be true, I think it's also likely if not more so that the officers did identify themselves, but the guy was so focused on the door that he was startled. Then he took of running and the officers saw him as a threat.

If you look real closely, after the guy pulls his weapon, an officers barrel comes up at the corner of the wall. There is 4 seconds from the time the gun comes up to when they shot. Plenty of times to say a few commands.

Yep. What's most fricked up is this was not just one cop making a mistake and then lying to cover it up. Every cop there saw what happened and signed off on the fraudulent report that was filed. Not one came forward to tell the truth. The only reason the truth ever came out to the public is USA Today forced them to release the dash cam video. Without that, we'd have nothing but the official police report to go by which the video clearly shows is a giant lie.

Now we wait and see what consequences come to the cops from this.
