Unions are trash. The only thing they do is protect shitty workers and make it harder to cut dead weight, while good workers get stuck taking on more work. Union workers are some of the laziest assholes I have ever met.

yeah.. a video game tester union..
Sounds like a bunch of 14 year olds are stuck in suspended adolescence.

I’d you’re a consumer, why would you not side with management?
In the case of these QA geeks… you gotta know your worth. Self awareness is key.

Unions are trash
trade unions for journeymen still work. The union is virtually the employer. But unless you have a skill and youre a journeyman, they're worthless.
These are the guys who get trained and hired out of union halls, but still at taxpayer expense. Its unreal how much public money subsidizes these unions.

Spoken like an hourly union worker.
I've never understood why a grown arse man wants to be considered a shitty worker with very low standards.

I'll never understand how a guy who unloads boats at a dock thinks he's an expert on every subject imaginable.

We don't unload boats, Zippy. One day you'll actually speak something that's factual.

I side with cheap, foreign labor.

You bet they’re connected. People think they’re entitled to too much shite now. Either they feel entitled to a cushy job with great pay and benefits, or entitled to not work at all and get living benefits from the govt
Jesus, most of you seriously can not think outside of regurgitating forcefed talking points.
There is a whole swath of the economy that works full time, sometimes 2+ jobs, and is still having to take in government assistance cause they don’t make enough to pay for basic necessities. The majority of welfare recipients work full time.
quote:
The 12 million wage-earning adults (ages 19 to 64) enrolled in Medicaid—a joint federal-state program that finances health care for low-income individuals—and the 9 million wage-earning adults in households receiving food assistance from the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) shared a range of common labor characteristics. For example, approximately 70 percent of adult wage earners in both programs worked full-time hours.
As for immigration, the effect on wages is minimal. As most immigrant labor is not substitutes for the low end labor that is receiving government subsistence and working full time. And even the most bullish estimates from credible economic reports pin it at only around 5%

And if it were such a drag, you would expect, when controlling for similar characteristics, to see an enormous difference in wages between largely white, non immigrant rural communities and heavy immigrant populated ones. And you don’t. Lower end jobs still pay like shite in the former, same as the latter.

You're neck deep in your own a-hole.
The way to escape poverty is to better yourself, union membership runs counter to that unless you have absolutely no other value to ad, or you work construction.
Most of us dislike seniority, scheduled pay and being chained to the lowest producers. We can do better than you.

Its one of the main contributors to wages not keeping up with inflation, zippy.
Maybe put down the comic book and pick up an econ book?

Sorry that facts trigger you Roger, but there is a reason all these right-to-work states with terrible labor protections also come out top in poverty and bottom in lower bound wages. Near the top in those on government subsistence and are net drains on federal dollars cause they take in more money than they send out.
Your talking points don’t match the evidence and just spewing more of them won’t change the facts. Low wages = more people on government programs.
It’s also ironic how Boomers like yourself always harken back to the good old days of the 50’s and 60’s, you know, when 1 in 3 people were in a union.
But sure Roger, labor representation is bad, best to give maximal power in the labor relationship to the people that’s only obligation is to shareholders and will tell you how much you are “family,” and “important” to the company… that is until the market hits a slight bump and they start laying off 15% of their “family” to salvage stock prices. That after they collude with other firms to keep wages suppressed, force employees into non-compete clauses, and strategically work behind the scenes to kill anything that would disrupt their imbalance of power 1 2
….Go tie up those boats Roger, and keep licking that boot!

Make note how only one of us in this conversation provided economic sourcing for their statement and make extra note that neither you nor dock-worker Roger have managed to refute what the CATO link wrote…
