The best part is the RR Police are employed by the RR company. So to say they can do whatever they want is an understatement

The RR police don't bother me at all. They are spread so thin and have so many problems. A railroad that UP bought about 20 years ago had 11,000 miles of route, and 7 (seven) police officers. 5 were in Chicago due to the thieves stealing scrap from the yards and busting into trains to steal electronics when they go through the hood.

It's not like a small town with a couple bored cops writing tickets for 5mph over the limit to make some revenue. It's like a nationwide property operating in remote and dangerous neighborhoods with half enough police to protect the trains and yards. They have their hands full and rely heavily on local cops just to get things done.

I know a few Amtrak cops and they have zero interest unless you are trespassing.

With the railroad and the mail lady, if you end up with vehicle damage it was your fault. Doesn't matter how right you are, you ain't getting a nickel outta either one.

I gave you your only upvote.
No one has personal responsibility anymore.
I'm really getting a kick out of the clowns saying he should claim back and neck injuries. Just how could that happen? The gates are breakaways. Idiots.

I knew my opinion would be highly unpopular.

As for people saying sue the RR, I’ve spent enough time in the industry to know that’s laughable and a colossal waste of time. Every Class 1 RR has a massive legal department. They’ll smother your lawyer in paperwork, counter sue claiming damages to the crossing arms, ect.
