The Vatican concluded that “it is morally acceptable to receive COVID-19 vaccines that have used cell lines from aborted fetuses” in the research and production process when “ethically irreproachable” vaccines aren’t available to the public. But it stressed that the “licit” uses of such vaccines “does not and should not in any way imply that there is a moral endorsement of the use of cell lines proceeding from aborted fetuses."

quote:

Getting vaccinated against the coronavirus “ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community," the U.S. bishops conference officials said.

quote:

The Vatican, in reassuring faithful Catholics that getting a COVID-19 vaccine would not violate the church’s moral teaching, noted that “health authorities do not allow citizens to choose the vaccine with which to be inoculated." Given such circumstances, it is morally acceptable to receive vaccines that have used cell lines from aborted fetuses, the Vatican said.

Y'all do realize how many drugs have been tested and approved through the use of these cell lines for decades, right? Just about every one of you on here has taken something that was tested using these lines. These abortions did not take place for science. They were elective procedures by their mothers in the 50s and 60s that would have happened regardless. They made their choices and had it not been them, it would have been others. Interesting how everyone is willing to overlook the good that has been derived from tragedy because God made us in His image......to be thinkers, innovators, and to create for the betterment of our future. He gave us these abilities, setting us apart from any other living creature. And here we are, scoffing at His gift because of a myopic perception of reality.

Mankind has free will. We are permitted to make choices, even when those choices are the wrong or immoral ones. We will answer for those, of course, but we should be thankful for the fact that we can still use these unfortunate events to fulfill our commandment to be fruitful and multiply and to look after the sick and the needy.

I’m Catholic, but I don’t acknowledge this current Pope as legitimate.

Probably time to switch to agnostic.

Church actively conceals sexual abuse on a world wide level for decades but this is what makes some of y’all outraged. It’s weird.

This is fine but don’t you dare wear a condom during marital sex because it’s birth control.

You should probably complain about this on the internet. Maybe twitter next, facebook perhaps, maybe even tik tok.

You could do one of those dances the kids do and you can explain why protestors should be killed by police but vaccines made from embryonic stem cells are evil.

That's a whole lot of philosophical tap-dancing to justify using a murder to prevent a cold.

I'm sorry you were fitted with a feeble brain and an inability to actually see a bigger picture before you.
