We don't go out to eat for Valentines because we aren't in high school anymore. I'll actually be hunting in Texas.

I mean in all seriousness, a home cooked steak dinner sounds much better than going out. I'll probably go with that.

Worst day to go out to eat. Limited menus, service is not gonna be as great cause everyone wants to go out to eat that night.

You are better off going out to eat a few nights before or after.

The one time my husband and I had reservations at a restaurant for Vday a few years ago....we still had to wait almost 30-45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Only reason we didn't get too upset...restaurant was giving us free booze while we sat in the bar area and waited for our table.

If you're waiting until Valentines Day to do something nice for your SO then you're fricked anyway.

Worse part about going out to eat for days like Valentines is people that rarely eat out much less at nice restaurants and really don't know how to act in them.

This is true. We witnessed that as well that night. Saw a lot of women thinking they were all dressed up nice for a nice dinner in Scottsdale...but they really just looked like cheap hookers

It's like the NYE of going out to eat, just amateur hour all around.

I really don't think I've ever gotten my wife a valentine's gift

Those once a year diners take up all the tables at the restaurants I visit normally. I refuse to wait 45 minutes and be crowded when I can go on any random other night of the year with no issue. Steaks at home usually if we bother to do anything.

My husband surprised me last year with one. Gave me a small cross necklace I had looked at in Tiffany's like almost a year prior to that. I was impressed he actually remembered the one I wanted.

We usually do not do gifts though....just give each other a card and maybe candy.

I was told on the food board that v-day is no different than a regular busy weekend night in a restaurant...

Wrong. Regular busy weekend night is people who regularly eat out. Not people who are amateurs.

Much like a crowded airport security line full of frequent business travelers vs a long line of people who fly once a year. You wouldn't think a menu or a body scanner would be difficult to navigate but apparently it is.

It has to suck to work Vday as a server

You know you are gonna bust your arse all night but likely not make as much cause of all the trashy customers that don't tip.

Nurse, how terrible is it to live in a world where you are so much better than everyone else on the planet and to constantly have to judge them all?

What, it's common knowledge that it sucks to go out to eat on Vday
