It’s a table top game using models and dice to simulate WW2 battles. Here’s an example army for a player.

They have some interesting model sets for various battles and theatres.

Bolt Action kits

What manufacturer is this kit? Great job on the cockpit BTW.

Thanks. It is a Supermodel kit I found.

Mine is this one that I found in my local shop. The kit is probably 40 years old. Seams have a lot of gaps and there is so much flashing it’s ridiculous.

BUT It came with a trailer and four air crew. Such a cool kit.

Nice, very nice.

Question. The clock in the background, is that a "retirement" clock or X number of years service clock? Reason I ask, company I worked for gave out clocks like that for 25 years of service.

It’s actually a company anniversary clock.

Yep. That sucker is tiny. About the size of my thumb.

Sweet kit - came with multiple soldiers and both the Kettenkrad and a (Volkswagen) Schwimmwagen.

Do you think it was made fun of by the other tanks in the tank garage due to its stubby little gun?

Nah. The Germans had the early version of the StuG with and even shorter barrel..

Pretty sure I have one of these in the stash that I’ll eventually get around to. But for now, this is what I’m working on now…

Not the size that counts. It's how you use it.

Joking aside, it was initially infantry assault vehicle. The low-velocity howitzer was for knocking out fortifications. They eventually added a high-velocity anti-tank to help replace turreted tank loses. By this time, it was a largely defensive war for Germany, and the anti-tank gun variant excelled in that role.

I didn’t exactly time it, but it probably took about a day and a half.

Darth,

I used to build these - albeit 30-40 years ago. Questions for you:

1) you seem to have a keener interest in Axis powers replicas, as most of what I see are Nazi or Italian… is this accurate?

2) what is the largest scale you’ve built?

3) most of what you post is mechanized artillery or air power. Do you do field artillery sets, naval pieces (subs, aircraft carriers, etc.)?

4) I liked the Japanese model brands the most. You?
