The weathering is toned down, is my guess, because Darth's model represents a vehicle poised on the Poland/Soviet border just before 22 June 1941, the first day of the German/Soviet War of 1941-1945.

The vehicle has yet to see combat action. It is virtually a new AFV.

That’s the exact look I was going for. This vehicle is indeed in the field, so a little dirty. But it’s still relatively new and in in top condition, ready for the jump off of Operation Barbarossa.

Do you have a Nashorn build? My favorite, nothing says Germany like putting a fixed 88 on a panzer chassis

Nice.

Seems like one of your easier paint schemes for a German tank.

I built this one a few years ago. I have two others in the model stash.

Well, this is an early war build so it’s the standard Feldgrau for this vehicle. It wasn’t until 1943 that the Wehrmacht implemented the standard pattern of dunkelgelb with a pattern of grün and Rotbraun. From 1943 to late 1944 the camouflage patterns used were applied at the Battalion level. That’s why there was such a myriad of various camouflage patterns in the later part of the war for a time. After late 1944, camouflage was applied at the factory on most vehicles.

Clean. Just how I like it.

Pledge recommendation is interesting. Maybe I’ll try it someday. I think you roll with micro sol and micro set though.

Looks great! I have that kit in my stash. Any issues with the build?

Thanks! It’s a Tamiya kit so, as usual, no issues.

Being a Tamiya kit, I didn’t think there would be issues. I’m currently working on RPM‘s Minenraumer…worst kit ever!
