VA benefit issues?

I've called multiple times and am no longer even being put on hold. A recording just states that they are experiencing a high volume of calls and can not assist you before hanging up

I received my GI bill check early, so no trouble here.

This have anything to do with the shite going down at the Louisiana DVA?

Possibly. I'm located in NC now, however, I think my benefits are still tied to my LA address. What's going on at LA VA?

I talked to the VA about my disability claim about an hour ago.

Don't ever sit on hold with those people. Call after business hours and set up a call back for the next day. They give you a 15 minute increment of time that they will call you back.

I was finally able to do that and they just called me. The guy said they are getting calls from many Vets claiming a lapse in benefit payments. He wouldn't elaborate about the cause, but did say, "into the thousands" when I asked how many were affected. He said they are working to fix the problem and I should get it tomorrow. We'll see.
