it still makes no sense to me that they would forward packages to locations out of the area instead justing sending them to the next correct facility..
I agree. It makes no sense and I don't understand how it saves the BR facility. They're still having to send them somewhere.
I am surprised that I got quick action after my call. I was told 2-3 business days. She had to find out where the package was because it was in transit and not showing to where. It was delivered about 24 hours after my call.

i'm glad you got results! i guess after the weather clears up next week i'll have to go back to my local office...i was told that there was nothing i could do except wait for them to show up, but obviously that's not the truth...it's sad that you have to pester people to do their jobs...
eta: i forgot to add that they are still forwarding packages to incorrect locations...i have two that arrived in BR on the 14th and have been in limbo ever since...

I got my insurance check, thank God.
Tuesday, I got an ebay order from early November. Seller had refunded me at the beginning of December and I had actually forgotten about it.

Maybe but better than fed ex that turned ground shipping over to contractors. It takes 12-14 days to get a fed ex ground package from LA now. They are officially worse than usps.

I mailed 3 packages from Seattle area to Illinois on December 19th to 3 different friends in the same general area. Two made it there on Dec 27th. The third shipped back to Seattle. I talked in person with the supervisor at the post office. He told me to wait and see if they ship it back and if not I'll have to do a package intercept online. waited a week. Logged in on their website and they want to charge me $20 to do a package intercept!
Back to the post office a week later and spoke with them again, Told him no way I'm paying another $20. He said there's nothing they can do, even though their system knows where the package is and shows the shipping address, Its just sitting in Federal way. pisses me off to no end.

USPS lost one of my sons' passports. We received both birth certificates and one passport the same day 3 weeks ago, but the second passport was not in the mail. It's been "in transit" for 3 weeks now. The women at the local post office told me yesterday they haven't seen tracking history like this and "that's really weird".
They did reassure me not to worry and we would eventually receive our son's passport, so I have that going for me.

Uh, based on what? Explaining a lost passport to get a new one will make your life excessively interesting.
