From a financial standpoint I would go to whichever one is the cheapest, I don't know if having a degree from one is more valuable than the other.

From an opportunity standpoint, USC. There are a lot more opportunities in L.A. than there are in New Orleans in terms of meeting people and building a network, etc.

If hot bitches are a priority, USC wins this one again.

If you want to experience an atmosphere of high crimes and broken political systems then Tulane.

If you want to go somewhere with a small football stadium on campus with a shitty football team then Tulane wins this one as well.

If you want to be in the city with better food then obviously Tulane.

If you like zoos and would like to go to the school that has the closes zoo then Tulane.

So there are a few things to consider.

New Orleans charm is vastly ovrerated. It doesn't really exist.

you can get jazz and literally every type of cuisine in the world in LA. New Orleans cuisine is great, but there is not much variety in the city, just different versions of the same stuff.

And I would not include a "northern feel" on the list of positives about Tulane.

I grew up around New Orleans and Lived in LA for several years. New Orleans food is definitely good and unique, but I would not say it is better than what you can find around LA.

Los Angeles is about 6x bigger than New Orleans. The amount of restaurants, celebrity chefs and top rated restaurants in L.A. makes New Orleans look like Baton Rouge

and you are underestimating the value of New Orleans as a college town versus LA. Uptown New Orleans is well suited as a college area. The area around USC is not. Which isnt to say go to Tulane over USC, but that is one of Tulane's appeals.

Not to mention LA is hardly looked at as some cultural gem.

LA/USC offer so, so much more than New Orleans as a college student. And that's looking past the bars/restaurants context. With a plethora of colleges in the area combined with quick access to the Pacific ocean, Angeles National Forest, major collegiate and professional sports, it's a no brainer.

If I'm applying to USC, I'm also applying to UCLA.

And if I get in, I'm taking my talents to Westwood.
