It isn't the only former Nazi to be deported under Trump either.

Berger admitted during the trial that he guarded the prisoners and prevented them from escaping, U.S. officials said. He also admitted that he never requested to be transferred from his role as a concentration camp guard.

To this day, the DOJ said, Berger receives a pension from Germany for his past employment in the country, including his "wartime service."

F that dude.

LOL at the people in here taking up for him.

95 is pretty old, but I don’t exactly feel sorry for the guy either.

Is Germany going to imprison him?

Maybe don't come to the US and think you could stay here if you were caught?

Tons of Marxist immigrants in this country dont get deported

Marxism killed many millions more in camps than Hitler did.

Don’t get me wrong, this guys participation in this shite is atrocious but it was literally a lifetime ago.

I think that’s the point. He’s lived a full life, while many of those he guarded didn’t get that chance. His actions during the waning days of the war directly led the the suffering and death of dozens of prisoners as they were moved from one camp to another.

Join the Wermacht or the Luftwaffe or the Kriegsmarine.

Not the SS.

He's been here since 1959. He was allowed to move here from Canada and didn't lie about his status and former life on any paperwork. One would think after 60 years here legally the government should lose the ability to deport someone who hasn't broken any laws.

Well there was a guy who actually escaped from a POW camp in the US then lived in the US for 40 years. He came out on Maury Povich or similar in the late 80s.
He still lives here.
But again he wasn't SS

If he wanted to be a good German patriot he could have gone to the front lines or worked in a munitions factory. Instead he became a camp guard.

Because the Nazi regime was well known for allowing freedom of choice.....

Napoleon

He was a member of the German Navy, not a member of the Nazi party. He was assigned to guard the camp in anticipation of the Allies advancing towards Germany through Holland. He was held prisoner by the British and, after the war, worked for the British occupation forces. That's why he wound up in Canada.

how many were active parts of the regime?

and if you know some of these people, you should report them, as the laws in which this guy was convicted just don't apply to former Nazis

Ok. Didn't click link. I thought this was the former SS guard in Ohio they were trying to send back.

So this guy served his time and was released? Then he should be allowed to stay.
We had plenty of Nazis that became citizens AFTER they paid their debts.

Also the navy and airforce guys weren't really too hard on their prisoners in comparison. Still not as soft as we were.
