That's cool.
Why do I find myself angry that it stops too early?

There was that tiny airport in Newfoundland that took in 38 airliners and over 6,000 passengers.

Had a Dutch colleague coming to Atlanta on 9/11 and Newfoundland was where he ended up.

You forget things over time but then remembering the day they come back.
We had brought a guy in over the weekend to interview for a new job. He was to fly out Tuesday at noon.
He did not get in the air, he did not get the job, he did not get back to his city in time to go back to work, he lost his job.
It was a surreal time in the business world. shite literally stopped. Everywhere.

Gander International.
It's not that tiny though, since it's also a Canadian air force base, and for a long time it was a primary refueling stop for transatlantic flights.

Seems kind of messed up. Unless he just called in sick for both that Monday and Tuesday, his old bosses presumably knew he was out of town and couldn't get back.

Only plane flying was air force 1.
A lot of military planes were flying. Tankers and fighters were in CAP within hours over major populated areas.
