Probably nothing serious will go down unless the professional agitators come into town, which would likely be a few days from now, if at all.

And it ain't just BR, Saint Louis, Saint Louis County, and Kansas City are all the same thing. Conservatives null the few blacks that vote, and White liberals decide the election.

A shame that a level headed person like yourself was not put up as a candidate.

Why do you people keep electing people like Broome to office?
EBRP is about 50/50 black/white. Nearly all black people vote Dem and some white people do as well. Too many people left for Ascension and Livingston over the past 20 years. It'll be hard for a Republican to win the BR mayor's race again.

I can actually explain this.
It is a fairly uniform pattern for Southern cities.
Generally, these cities have a mishmash of Republican and Democrat mayors during Reconstruction, then as the old school Dems took hold in the South you will see a long string of white, male Democrat mayors. White flight from large cities and the creation of suburbs began as a slow process after desegregation. There was an uptick in some Republican mayorships in the early 80’s in larger Southern cities maybe because of Reagan but it quickly died off.
The pattern is white male Democrat replaced by a black male Democrat and then the election of a black female Democrat over the last 15 years or so.
There are obviously differences city to city based on it’s power structure and personalities but that sums it up pretty well.

It's not as if it was some sort of Republican stronghold. Virtually every mayor has been Democrat.

I grew up around a lot of intellectual types, most likely liberal in the Old Goodwood area.

Yeah, i don't doubt anything that happens in the rural areas of Missouri.

I live in one of the most blackest cites in the South and we have two white mayors.

We haven't had many and I don't think we will again. The only real areas of the parish that are growing are Zachary and Central/Pride. People continue to move to LP and AP

Check it.
Just off the top of my head Atlanta has a black female mayor.
Shreveport has a black female mayor.
BR has a black female mayor.
NO has a black female mayor.
Charlotte has a black female mayor.

Not true. The parish is almost 50-50 but the city is predominantly black.

I think it's about 60/40 black. I don't think that includes the St George area

This is absolutely the truth.
While I completely disagree with the BR locals that believe it is a travesty that cops shot a resisting felon with a loaded gun in his pocket that wasn’t fazed by two taser shots was shot, they are not gonna burn stuff.
That won’t happen unless the bandana faces show up.
