For starters let Aramis Jackson out with a slap on the wrist for illegally possessing a firearm. He went on to kill a young mother and shoot the daughter in the back multiple times to steal a 32" TV.
Ouch

The guy she's sitting behind traded 5 Taliban commanders for a deserter/traitor that we'd have just as well not had back.
Trudy White's a piker.

The name change pays homage to current restaurant general manager Javier Pallais, who has worked for the Moran family at Ninfa’s, as well as both of the family’s TJ Ribs locations on College Drive and Siegen Lane, since 2010. T.J. Moran, the veteran Baton Rouge restaurateur and philanthropist who died earlier this year, opened Ninfa’s at 4738 Constitution Ave. in 1990.
“I didn’t know they were going to do this,” says Pallais, a 25-year restaurant veteran who is becoming a partner in the restaurant with Burke Moran, son of T.J. Moran. “I was definitely shocked.”

That's incorrect. Judge White did not let Aramis Jackson out with a slap on the wrist.
That is a common misconception that's often misstated. It's often repeated that SHE dropped the charges (she did not) or that she SENTENCED him to that (there was no sentence, as the D.A. decided to not push forward).
The DISTRICT ATTORNEY dropped the charges against Aramis Jackson in that case. After that happened, she encouraged him to take advantage of the break the district attorney's office had given him, and turn his life around. She suggested that he start by committing random acts of kindness.
Of course, we know how that turned out.
Now i'm not speaking on any other cases or other things that she's currently in the news for, but as for Aramis Jackson, the District Attorney's office dropped the ball on that one, not her.
