Sumlin should of known? am i right?
Police gave me the police report number, we will see. It certainly a concern. The apartment complex isn't a bad place. The quality of residents is high but obviously this guy was allowed to skirt by and not have to pass the background check to live here.
Sucks because I just moved here 2 months ago and I hate moving. but, if it keeps me away from this guy then it is worth it.
Ideally, he would be forced to move but that is unlikely.

The cops said they know the guy from previous incidents.
That fits.

He has honestly been trying to get his life in order
That's two lies.

True

Apparently he is also the apartment owners son (which would explain how he was able to live here).

He now has a family (wife and daughter) that live with him and they believe it was an honest mistake
Wife supports his story so it must be true.
Sorry to jump to conclusions, I'm sure there will be no further drama involving your reformed Beaver Cleaver neighbor, who's obviously not on drugs or anything.
Sleep well.

This thread may be better than the one about the guy thinking about fricking his cousin at a wedding.
the coffee shop cyclist stalking was pretty humorous as well. I keep going back to sec rant to incite anger because i'm just waiting to see how this resolves. this guy might live next to some spetznas or something

Wouldn't the slide just fly off? It normally comes slinging off when you pull the trigger. Pardon my ignorance. I've never shot a gun while trying to take it down
i have no idea what would happen if there was a round in the pipe. i feel like the slide would become a projectile too

having to pull the trigger to take down a handgun is such a tired, dated design. almost as stupid as the mag disconnect safety

There's no way that was almost 5 years ago

more importantly did he explain it to the neighbor?

tentative game plan:
tomorrow morning I visit with the apartment manager and I tell her the story and mention that he is in violation of prohibited conduct, I'm guessing she is just going to say "ok. sorry, but he is the owners son we aren't doing anything."
at which point I will inquire on breaking lease without any fines and see what they say to that.

you can't just drop that bomb and then leave

Did you read the thread? The cops know the guy and the apartment owner and have multiple run ins but defended the guy and didn't do anything about it.
That police report is already lost somewhere.
don't know why this stuff is hilarious to me. we have a negligent discharge, potential fatality, and a report going to the DA. but i just hacked up another lung laughing at this.

Just move dude. Start looking for a new place and move.

What are you laughing at?

If they won't let you out of your lease, maybe you can just move to a different unit
If not, I'd just move. They won't have reported you before you get the new place. Then when it comes up in the future, you'll have current good rental history, and you can show the police report for why you left on bad terms
