Innocent
The dogs were running lose in violation of state law.
When the last dog made a charge toward the officer he had a right to protect himself.
Owner should be fined for each dog being loose.
We have a leash law in this state and if the owner would have had his dogs restrained this would never have happened.
If people think they can let their dogs loose, I can let my cattle run all over state hwys and if someone hits them they should be at fault not me.

A preliminary report from the police officer shows that the pupper reached for the police officer's weapon before being shot. The bodycam is also reported to have malfunctioned.

If the officer was the least bit afraid, why didn't he at the very least get behind his car? He obviously wanted to kill something, He couldn't get the dog to come out of the yard by coaxing it with the tazer. So he cursed and shot it in its own driveway. He should have been arrested for animal cruelty.

All this could have been avoided if the animals owner would have kept their animals in a secure area or with them on a leash. I believe state law also requires dog owners to do this.
When a first responder goes to a location he has no idea what he is running into. Put bull like breed not secured inside a fence or on a leash can be dangerous.
Again, the dogs by law should not have been loose and the owner of the dogs should be charged with violations also.

Dogs were in their own yard. Looks a lot like an invisible fence. They are not loose if they are in their own yard. Many people in Baton Rouge have invisible fences, but the dogs won't come out of the yard.

quote:This fricker is guilty. I don't care if the dogs "by law" should have been chained or in a yard; they in no way posed a threat to the officer. I'd be ready to kill someone if they shot my dog after he got out of his yard and was only barking.

Dog does not have to be on a leash if they're in the yard
