Or he pushed her off a cliff.....literally.
This wouldn't surprise me. Or they were in some sort of a physical fight and she fell during the fight, whether or not he intentionally did it. He probably freaked out at that point and took off.

Based on this video, I'd imagine this scenario has the best odds. She clearly flew off the handle at times and had no issues getting physical with him.

feel like if a murder like this happened there, it would push Congress to act and attempt to make it retroactive.

Yep..this is the most plausible scenario IMO

And just like how everyone assumed he was an abuser a few days ago when they heard there was a domestic call, if he just "tells his side of the story" like everyone in here was clamoring for, they'd call him a liar.
I mean shite, THIS VIDEO shows clearly who the person with issues and violence was, and yet people are still interpreting that person to be him. THIS is why you don't talk to police without an attorney and before you know all the evidence they have. If people have decided you did it, they will create a Texas Sharpshooters Fallacy around anything you say.

Self...defense. That's a really good reason to get a lawyer and clam the hell up about everything. To craft the narrative, at least with Law Enforcement. This is gonna look god awful out in public, but it's probably his smartest move.
I retract my Meth-head scenario and plant my flag firmly in the crazy chick got too physical and T-boy ended it, scenario.

This is what I think happened.
Could be self defense.

It doesn't have to be something as dramatic as "self defense". If she created a physical altercation, it's very possible that her death was accidental. Now, was her perfectly moral in leaving her in that scenario? No. However, was he rational (in terms of self interest) for doing so? Yes.

This is the most likely scenario at this point, she went psycho and he either:
Pushed or fought back and something bad happened and he freaked out and took off
or
He left her there in the middle of nowhere and now just assumes she didn't make it (which is far less likely)

If he left her, he needs to be honest with someone.
The timeline isn't his friend though.

What's his responsibility here?

and what is his responsibility in notifying the authorities if her death was the result of him acting in self defense?

Huh?
Believing he killed her doesn't equal the belief he was an abuser.

No. Hearing that there was an LEO stop related to a domestic abuse call made people assume HE was the abuser (when it was her)

Maybe some, not everyone. I dont' recall anyone saying he was the abuser.
Previous violence is usually a precursor. It just shows there was ample opportunity for more violence.
I am not confinced he's a murderer, I am convinced he's hiding a lot of shite.
If she's missing, there's no downside to giving the family some rest. But we all know she's dead and the Boyfriend knows she is dead.
What's his responsibility if she just ran away?

A problem with the he just up and left her claim is that her mother tried to call him and his parents many times when they couldn't contact her and they all refused to take her call.
Not talking to the police who are investigating a potential homicide is one thing. Not talking to the girl's parents in the immediate aftermath of her disappearance is another. If she was acting so bad/crazy that you drove off, why wouldn't you tell her parents? Why wouldn't your parents tell her parents? Hey, your crazy bitch daughter is at a campground in Utah, we broke up and I'm out for good. What about their friends?
Bottom line: if there was an explanation that absolved him of serious criminal liability someone would have heard it by now.
