He has no chance of going before a judge in a suit, or in civilian clothes. He has to be booked to get a magistrate number to get a court time assigned. Everyone puts on the same uniform and rides over in the same way. Billionaires like Robert Durst, with the aforementioned Dick Deguerin, went the same way.

Either his few close friends have to realize their friend straight up kicked a guy to death, or the other 99% of people in here realize why you dont hang a man before a trial
Its going to be tough for his close friends, who are also my friends, to reconcile this action with the guy they knew. The guy they knew before as genuinely nice from a good family and with a promising life. The guy that also kicked a man to death.
No question what he did is just horrible. I can't imagine how hard it is for people who know him to reconcile the two things.

Orleans Justice Center is the name of the jail on Perdido.
OPP is Orleans Parish Prison, a building attached to the Criminal District Court which is closed.

This thread has been great and i think my favorite part are the people arguing with an actual prosecutor

Exactly. Either they missed that part or they are pretty stubborn.

Whether a video comes out or not, maybe the handful of guys who knew him won't find the "dindu" jokes so funny anymore. Newsflash - the family and friends of an alleged criminal usually think they're a good person. Pit bulls are good dogs too, until they kill a kid.

Correct. And as I stated a few pages ago, he won't get to magistrate until at earliest 3pm, more likely the 7/8pm session (which isn't open to the public) and have a bond set by Commissioner Blackburn assuming he doesn't have a different commissioner sitting in his place.
I'd want Blackburn to set my bond over Cantrell.

You don’t just go from being a nice guy to kicking a 60 year old panhandling man on the ground
I imagine his friends knew he had issues before this

Any idea what sort of bond he'll be facing? Would the prosecutor try to argue he's a flight risk?

Well, they didn’t. People who have known him and his family for decades have told me he’s one of the nicest guys they know.
Who knows what happened in his head that night when he was blackout drunk.
Some things aren’t explainable unfortunately.

You're right on both counts. Blackburn by a mile. And it'll be 3pm.

I was in the seventh ward on Pauger yesterday with a long time customer. He asked why I had a guy in the car with me. I told him he was my backup, when I go to bad areas I like to have backup in case shite goes down.
He looked at him and said "you should get a Russian, no one messes with a Russian"
It's odd I still can't real how these young Russians own so much property out here.
(He was just my helper who I didn't need for that job, I don't actually have a body guard, lol)

But it's one thing to be a nice guy around your friends. Some people can become really hostile around strangers under the right circumstances.
Just like pit bulls love their trainers/owners but don't hesitate to kill something that isn't their trainers/owners.
I have no doubt he was a pleasant person around his friends, but he clearly was a major drinker with maybe an alcohol problem and clearly had the ability to become extremely violent towards people outside of his circle of good buddies.

So I don't get the whole prison rape thing. Are there a lot of gay people in jail or something? I mean, why else would a straight person butt rape another male? You can't say lack of getting poontang because I can't imagine not getting any makes you gay. And it's not a power thing, because who in prison respects a butt raper? shite just doesn't make sense to me.
