Dude I’ve been in jail twice for assault. First time was for 30 days (served 21) and the second was 45 days (served 31 or 32 if I remember correctly). I’m 6’3”/235 and it didn’t make a bit of difference. Unless you’re a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu or something that’s not gonna help you. The first time I was brought in I was in a holding cell all night with a whole bunch of other dudes (primarily black)— the number increased as the night progressed. In the morning some were bonded out but the rest of us were just left there after they told us the judge’s terms. So, I talked to a lot of them, showed compassion for their high numbers, etc. When we all went into general pop and we went to eat and go out in the yard I sat by the guys that I recognized and I didn’t have any problems. About 2 or 3 days later two white trash dudes came up to me and asked me why I was hanging around all the *insert n word here*. I told them I was doing 30 days and I wasn’t joining up with any lightweight parish prison cliques or crews. I told them if they felt they had to do something because of that, then go ahead and do what you gotta do. I never had any problems— granted this was EBR Parish prison — but I did see multiple other guys, both white and black, get bullied, abused and victimized. When I went back the second time, fortunately there were still some guys there from my first time, so I didn’t experience any problems. I can only imagine what happens at a maximum security place that houses murderers and rapists.

I even became friends with one guy, who ended up at Angola. He called me one evening and as we were talking, he said to his friend who was nearby, “Damn, you see that arse?” I said, “Damn, they got a female guard there?” and he was like, “Nah, man. New inmate.”

But you go ahead and keep living in Never-Never Land. Maybe I’ll come visit sometime when I can take a break from reality.

Y’all arent tired of arguing with one another yet? Y’all know very little details of what happened. Hell hardly anything’s been released. I’d just be tired of talking about it already.

I think a big picture we are all missing is the dangers and hazards of alcohol. I'm not on a soapbox preaching to you all to get and stay sober (as I myself drinks).

But, it is dangerous and there is a real slippery slope between having a good time out with your friends and ending up cuffed and having your life in shambles.
