Update: A Kidney for Katie

Some two months ago there was a thread about an LSU alum who was to donate a kidney to his little girl. A number of OTers donated to the GoFundMe account - A Kidney for Katie. Just to let everyone know that the surgeries took place this past Saturday and that both father and daughter are reportedly doing very well. The donated kidney was immediately functional and it appears that Katie will not be required to stay in PICU for two weeks as initially expected.
The Go Fund Me raised over $30,000 to allay the costs associated with the procedure and her dad, Drew Duffy, being off his job as a middle school teacher for months to recover. Major props to Drew, and a tip of the hat to those who helped make it possible. The account is still open if anyone wants to $how appreciation.

Great news and thanks for the update. Earlier this week I was randomly wondering how everything was going with Drew and Katie, glad to hear everything is moving in a positive direction.
