not surprising...this kind of thing will happen everywhere.
Here in Houston, the University of Houston is changing the name of the Calhoun Lofts dorms that are located off of Calhoun Road. Obviously the lofts are named after the road they are located on, which happens to share its name with John C. Calhoun, 7th vice president who owned slaves.

Nobody complained, they just did it because of all the controversies recently so not to hurt any of the campus snowflakes' feelings

It was ESPN that pulled the announcer, not UVA.

Virginia's stadium is named after Frederic Scott-the census from 1850 showed a man by that name owned two slaves. I don't think they should play any home games until that stadium is removed.
