Am I the only person who didn't know what a foamer was until now?

Railroad work rules are often ridiculous, and often contradictory.
I enjoy taking railroad photographs, but I'm definitely not a foamer. I try to stay away from crowds of railfans when taking photos. The crews are almost always nice to me (toss me ice cold water bottles during the hot summer months).

Yeah that guy is fricking nuts. The CSX crews in FL probably loathe him.

And hopefully hes burning in hell right now. That guy ruined so many lives. Sadly his spirit lives on with other class 1s adopting PSR. Hope they enjoy the profits now. shite will eventually fall to shite.
PSR is such a goddamn gimmick. I can't believe NS is trying it after seeing the utter failure that was EHH's implementation at CSX.
Wick needs to come out of retirement and back to NS.

What really pissed me off with NS was how they had a conductor trainee class in GA of over 100 guys and midway through they just said "go home you guys are laid off."
fricking BS. Those guys left jobs to get a good paying RR job. shite like this is why I hate management.
Thankfully BNSF hasn't implemented PSR yet. Although old man Buffet might be buying into its false advertising

BNSF used to do that as well. Or lay them off as soon as they got set up.
Then wonder why they didn't come back when called 6 months later.

Yea but at least BNSF let them finish their training before getting furloughed. I know guys who back in 2014 were told in week 2 of training they'd be furloughed straight out of training when they were supposed to get their bump to mark up.
That's a lot better than suddenly coming to work one day and finding you have no job.

Maybe he loosened a couple bolts so he could get a cool video?

I admit I had no idea what a "foamer" was either... though I am well aware about "railfans"
always had a love for steam locomotives ever since riding on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge RR as a kid... so I definitely watched a good number of the videos from this UP 4014 & UP 844 excursion
I ain't got the time and money to go chase trains down the rails... so I'll watch other peeps' videos

ah heck... both JawTooth & MilenniumForce are quite a bit over the top with the rail love

I remember way back when I hired out on the first day of class one of the trainers said "The railroad is spending $70k to train you. And will try to fire you for the rest of your career."
Whenever there was a business downturn they always fired a bunch of guys for bullshite reasons so they didn't have to furlough as many.

I bet you he's the one fricking around with the crossing arms and switches and whatnot that he shows in his videos then "alerts" the crews of. Surprised they haven't caught him.
The way he screams and goes crazy when the typical monotonous Amtrak train passes by should tell you that there are several screws loose (pun intended) with this dude.

Someone should dock him a day's pay

Yea I'm eagerly awaiting the next big furlough. I work out in Alliance NE so we are heavily dependent on coal and if a Dem wins in 2020 bye bye coal.

UP has the contract now I think but do you recall having COLX trains?
I think they normally run out the north end. We'd get them in St. Paul off BNSF.
