serious question.. why aren't many of the protestors carrying guns? Guns aren't completely banned in Ukraine right?
they are carrying, but they won't use them cause they don't want to fire first

Olya does the best job reporting. Seems like the other spilno reporters don't have the balls to stay on the front lines like she does.

GEAUX posted the major ones.
From my impression watching them:
espreso (youtube) switches between Russian/Ukranian studio commentary and a feed of important events fairly frequently. They seem to be on top of the "front lines" whenever something happens, though they aren't always focused on them.
I think that that ustream (euromajden) and RT links stay focused on the "front lines," but miss some of the random, relatively important, though unintelligible, events that espreso likes to cut to.
I've found that espreso is easier to follow whenever they don't have anyone in the studio, i.e., during down hours in Ukraine. I generally try espreso first but switch to the others when they just have guys/girls sitting in the studio.

Gotcha. I just haven't seen many of them carrying anything besides shields and metal pipes.

no, they're not pussies.. they're doing something that'll never happen in america cause.. you guessed it.. too many of our citizens are pussified. They'll use their guns if they have to, but they're doing it the smart way by making the police fire first

Whoever fires the first shots will be portrayed as the villains. I think they are right not to shoot first and risk losing the support of other nations.

demonstrators are showing incredible discipline, the longer this thing goes, the stronger they'll get...

If the protesters fire first, it gives the gov't the excuse to roll in the tanks.

The gov't may be afraid of world public opinion if they do. It'll just confirm that the Ukraine has returned to Soviet-era policies, etc. which is the very thing the people are fearing/protesting. I'm guessing they'd rather have some better pretext to do so.

They are catching hell for trying to outlaw protest, could you imagine if they rolled the tanks in because of fireworks and burning tires.

Actually the Olympics itself will be interesting, especially if Russia and Ukraine get matched up in a hockey game.

I think Russia is going to be a major pain in the arse after the Olympics.
