I'm a conservative, but also a businessman--I get why Uber put out the email. I get why the timing/context rankles some conservatives.
Both the reasoning behind Uber putting out the email and the the over the top blowback from some on the right is silly.

We are literally at a point where most people, on both sides, feel like anything that is done by the other side, or a company supporting either side, is a direct attack on people as individuals

Not necessarily, at least not for me. I did not ask for their opinion. However, when they send it to me unsolicited and I don't agree with it then I can react as I choose.

What business do they lose by not putting this email out? The only thing this did was cost them business. How much is open to debate of course.

No not everyone's there are many in this thread that have agreed with what I said and obviously Uber does.
I would say that when you say Uber is wrong for saying that White Supremacist are bad, most people's opinion of you would be that you are either a racist or a White Supremacist apologist. According to the opinions vary comment they wouldn't be wrong. unless of course everyone's opinion is wrong but yours?

I definitely agree with you here. From a business stand point I can't see people whom already used them, using them even more because of the email. The only way it could possibly help is if non customers got wind of it and liked what they did, so started using them.

So half the populace are White Supremacist? What side or they taking? I'm on neither of these groups sides. You are making my point with this post. Basically saying you are on the side of the white supremacist. I just to oppose both and applaud anyone that denounces either. Believe it or not you can do that. You don't have to pick a side.
