17h from LAX, and the seatbelt sign was on for maybe 14 hours on the way out. I can't stay drunk enough to deal with turbulence, for that period of time.

Cruise ships are not long gone and deal with relaxing,eating, and gambling for days or even a week at a time.

Shitty situation for all involved….and I see no easy solution to it. The flight attendants should have notified the airline that those seats were unavailable on the flight.
