If a 55 and a 54 year old man or woman have sex with a 14 year old, then they are pedophiles and deserve maximum punishment. There's no excuse for that

Attraction to teenagers depending on the age range is called Ephebophilia or Hebephilia.

Would you allow your teenage 12-16 year old son to have not just a sexual relationship but a flat out romantic style relationship with a gown arse woman that's at least 10-12 years older than him and introduces him to many adult vices?

Yep. To be clear if I were the father of this 14-year-old girl she would be under house arrest, no phone or anything.
But once puberty is hit, it should be a moral/parental issue and none of the state’s business.

Just because the human body may be biologically and physically capable of doing something does not mean the teenager is psychologically and emotionally ready to do it and appreciate the consequences of sex.
We don’t want our teenage daughters having babies or our sons having child support payments when they’re not even finished with high school yet.
There’s a reason why we have ages of consent at an age where they’re already been capable of reproduction.
