Nope, I blame the whole city of New Orleans. The culture of decadence is disgusting. How many people are dead or ruined this past week because of the lowest aspects of degeneracy. Every one who promotes, glorifies and profits from the hedonism bears a piece of the blame.

Stop being salty that you didn’t catch any beads yesterday. Mardi Gras’s not over baw.

DUI's happen all year long. I may be wrong but this happens in other cities too.

Good question. I would also like to know those that were enabling him that evening. We need to start holding those people civilly or criminally liable.

I bet you want to start holding gun manufacturers responsible for gun violence too.

He was driving a Chevy, start by suing them.

Did you read the post about DUIs in New Orleans. The police have generally abandoned even policing for DUIs. Which makes the fact that this is a cop's son even more ironic. But maybe not so much based on the past criminality and dysfunction of the police in New Orleans.

So, when Uncle Billy Joe is driving home from picking up skanks at the local Honky-Tonk and ends up taking out a family of four on his way home to his double wide, hammered drunk, is it the local debauchery in the sticks that’s to blame, or is it the human being?

You’re retarded sir. Make no mistake about that. Full blown retardation.

I could write a book about the degeneracy of the interior rural south, many have already been written. I'm talking about a cosmopolitan center that at one point could have focused on something more noble but decided to flaunt its reputation as the Sodom and Gomorra of the United States, and whose rather moronic population has decided to identify themselves with.

Well, suffice it to say that I’m not going to blame the people living in the sticks for what Uncle Billy Joe does in as much as I’m not going to blame the people of New Orleans for what some dingleberry does. There’s no righteousness on this entire planet, not in NOLA or in the sticks either. It’s just human beings doing what human beings do. In New Orleans, it’s all out in the open. In the rest of America it’s Puritans in public, and Perverts in private. Same human beings.

This is the wrong dichotomy on many levels. The culture of New Orleans as exhibited by the actions of its leaders and people for much of its history always valued order, and more noble manifestations of culture.

New Orleans was the Queen City of the South, only New York or Boston may have surpassed it in culture. The wealth and governorship of the city led to the creation of educational, musical, architectural, engineering and religious institutions that were well ordered in a geography and with a populace that necessitated order.
