Set aside the name Trump, at most he will matter for the next four years. Instead look at what this means for our country. We now live in a country where the party in power will bend, even break, laws to weaponize the judicial system in order to target their political opposition.
As of May 30, 2024 the notion that we are a constitutional republic governed by the concept of equal justice under the law is now laid bare as a lie. If you oppose the political party in power, they will use the power of the state to try to crush you. Everyone is focused on Trump, but this doesn’t hurt him. If anything it makes him stronger. Our republic and the concept of equal justice under the law though have been irreparably broken.
