Used car dealers don't sell cars for the same price they paid the original owner.
They're trying to make a profit. And a "luxury" used car dealer? They're trying to make a large profit. Show me what the original short-term owners of those cars got paid for their trade-ins. Guaranteed, they lost a double-digit percentage of the cars' retail price, at a minimum.

Given that the suv completed a cross country road trip, traveled where no new SUV can, transported us in comfort amd safety, provided us with navigation and entertainment, was pleasant to drive, and drew a few compliments for the vain among us... It would stand to reason it successfully completely the work of a new vehicle (and exceeded it in certain areas).
By definition, it is viable.

probably not anywhere near 10% or over, but you could do the same scenario with a used car as well.
Buy a used car from a lot, then see what you get for trade in. Your argument even demonstrates that
