Friends mom just bought the Mercedes S600 Maybach. Yeah, I didn't realize how expensive those were until I looked it up

Can't wait to ride in it. Back seat is a full blown lazy boy

Plastic everywhere. I'd rather a year old Range Rover. But then again I'm not a redneck.

G wagons are the tackiest try-too-hard cars on the road.

No way they are try harder than Range Rovers.

They are pretty try hard though, I'll give you that.

It's a very nice rig that will probably last forever....but no way I'd pay $85,000 for a pickup truck.

Them baws ain't priced a 6.7 KR lately.

You can get them for around 58 + TTL, FWIW.

I can't go w/ a High Country, though. If I'm gonna be a pretend cowboy I at least want a truck named after a real ranch.

Range Rover

My wife wants to buy one if these when she's done with her residency.

I'm trying to convince her that the boxy (and relatively affordable) LR4 is actually much better than the $100,000 Range Rover.....no luck.

I get inflation but that's way ahead of inflation and COS.

Do you have any idea how much more technologically advanced new Denalis are compared to the original ones from 1999? Inflation only gets you to the cost of a similarly equipped vehicle. Once you add in all the new features, it's going to cost more. You're getting way more vehicle.

So a $35k 1999 Denali would now be $54,500 in today's dollars assuming 3% inflation. That's really not that far off what you can buy a new one for now, and you're getting so much more vehicle.

My 2004 Tahoe has xm and 4wd. What technology do I need that I can't get on my $200 phone.

I think you can get a v6 supercharged Range Rover for $80k. Might look at the Mercedes GLK 350 it is only $40k

Give it one more year. Rumor is that Allison made a change that may be suspect.

Not exactly a relevant point, but probably not much. Doesn't change the fact that technology costs money.

ETA: One thing the new one can do that your phone can't is have almost 200 more hp while getting netter fuel efficieny.

They've also gone up so they can remain exclusive

Lots of people will pay quite a bit for that Denali name but it gets cheapened if there's 10 in every neighborhood
