it appeared to be working so well

depends on if you trust your diagnostic abilities. TBH, I don't trust those alternator testing stands at auto parts stores. They don't do a very good job testing the diodes in the alternator and that is often the reason for the light to come on.
I went to a well-regarded/professional acquaintance shop; but i feel like the info was straightforward

ground, batt, and alt test well...thats why i think the throttle body replacement may be a cause?
Eh No.

A loose ground cable could easily cause the problems you list. I'd trace the ground from the battery to the frame, make sure there isn't corrosion and make sure that the bolt is tight.

lol I did something like that before I took it to the best regarded shop in my area, they were the ones who told me everything checked out well.

did this good shop hook their scanner up to the obdII diagnostic port and see the voltage the PCM was seeing?

they said it was good, but would this be something that would be and auto-replacement at the current mileage if the alt, batt, etc are all good?

never dealt with a pcm replacement before, so i don't know how common/expected it is

I'd make sure your connections to the battery are tight and check the ground connection as well. also, try cleaning your battery posts if you notice there is corrosion on it, which can cause issues with getting a solid connection.
If that all fails to fix the problem, it's probably the alternator.

the alternator is my guess, but the posts about the pcm made a lot of sense as well

Put a piece of black tape over the area where the light shows
