That sounds like a great idea. Their healthcare system is so much better than here.

A friend of a friend went down there and had something done. She's batshit crazy so I think I'd have heard if it was bad.
I will not ask her for fear I might ruin what she had done. Cray, cray beyotch.

Do you not have dental insurance? Or are you replacing your teeth with blood diamonds?

I think there is a town right on the az border that is a dental mecca. Id check it out and do some searching on the dentists online to see the reviews.

A good dentist is a good dentist no matter where they are from. Dental work is a huge fricking ripoff in the united states.

I have insurance, just been putting off cosmetic work that is not covered.....I am not vain enough to pay the prices here.

The trip down there would be free b/c of the money I would save versus doing it here.

This is true, but why exactly would they practice in Mexico? Just wondering as I know you are familiar with this.

Most medical/dental work is fine, your main risk is that if something actually does go wrong you probably won't have many legal options.

I personally know someone who had a compound fracture while hiking in Peru. She made it out to the trailhead where the surgeon personally met her and took her on the three hour trip to the hospital. Put metal screws in place and everything, and when she made it back to the States a surgeon here evaluated the work and said it was quite professionally done. The evaluation in the US cost more than the actual surgery did in Peru.

Most dental insurance sucks when it's time to use it for anything besides a check up

Check out Colombia. Most doctors and dentists are US trained. The exchange rate is incredible now too.

Friend had his appendix removed in Mexico City, was emergency, went to a private facility that had U.S. trained Docs, and paid cash. Surgeon, hospital, drugs, aftercare, was $1400.00

Havent had cosmetic dental surgery in mexico, but have had a routine cleaning.

Do your homework, and you will likely get similar quality to an average dentist back home. My guess is that you run a small risk for issues, but if properly done, its worth the savings.

Not all, but a decent amount of dentists in mexico train in the US. Fwiw if i needed some cosmetic surgery I would look into the mexican options.

Easy, I am a proud American and I am blessed to have been born in this country.

So, again I ask, why do these dentist choose to practice in Mexico? I do realize some may be natives that trained in Mexico, I'm not asking about them.

I await your response.
