No way I’m an engineer too
Unfortunately I’m in O&G so I guess it doesn’t count

If you have a book size that’s 10-15 million, you’re pulling in 1,100,000-1,650,000 in gross revenue from P&C alone. Factor in our bonus program and you’re looking at another 200-300k in one check. So yes, most successful owners are making 400-500k easily plus bonuses.
You’re a business owner not simply a licensed employee.

maybe, but that is the case across the board. and there are plenty that can afford, private school, travel ball, new cars, new house and still fund college funds every year.

so stupid. most kids that excel in something actually care about excelling in everything. my kids literally are not allowed to play if they make a B.

Maybe not lying, but not representing reality.

Well we can't all be Jared.

I'm not talking about the kids.

I am a SF agent, I am representing reality. You are clearly not nor do you have any insight to the industry or wtf you’re talking about so your immediate response is to call me out?
Why would I lie, it’s still one of the best opportunities to own a business in the nation. Believe what you want, it doesn’t change my paycheck one bit.

Is that common for a lot of SF agents?

How much of that do you net?

1 check? Who writes your checks? I would think that being an agent making upwards of $1 million/year would be a big draw to most people, no? Do you need a college degree to become a SF agent?

Never ceases to amaze me how wound up this place gets about how others choose to spend their money.

dude most state farm agents...the actual business owners....are pulling 200+ after 5 years of owning business

not sure what that means. but if you are making 200+, travel ball really shouldnt be some big burden on the family.

SF writes it to the business
and depends on the college degree but in general for new agents yes, must be able to pass state boards, you have to put together a business plan that is very detailed, pass all the prequal classes and you have to interview and be chosen.
it might be a big draw but getting an agency is not easy at all. most people try for years before given one unless you are willing to move and its still not easy.
once you have it, its your business. some get a book some dont, but its not your book to sell though at the end. but now, with new rules they cant take away from you unless you do something unethical or something similar
they arent just handing out agencies though

SF agents are independent contractors with SF. We get paid 1099 and then we are in complete control of our business. Employees, building, marketing etc.
10-15 million is pretty common in the southeast and honestly most in Florida are much larger.
As far as net, that’s completely dependent on my expenses which is unique to each owner. My expense ratio is 50% so do the math.
The Score card bonus is an annual check based on prior year performance in all lines. Mine was 134k last year, this year it’s 270k. I can do whatever I want with that.
No you don’t have a college degree, and yes it is a huge pull once people get exposure and see the opportunity. It’s not like SF is out there bragging about how much their agents make, so there’s clearly a lot of misconceptions about that in a negative light.
Of course with everything it’s what you make of it so there are shite agents everywhere. However even if you’ve got a small book, maybe grossing 500k annually with 2-3 employees you’re still netting over 200k and the freedom it provides is unmatched imo.
