Louisiana and Texas drivers not knowing how to drive through a tunnel. Drivers hit the brakes when they see it and it causes a huge traffic jam. Once you get through the tunnel it should be smooth sailing.
Never be in this area during the summer or major summer holidays on Fridays between 3-6pm. It's awful.
Next time take I-65 to I-165 around downtown. It will put you out on the causeway or bay way and will bypass the standstill traffic.
