You get an IP, and then what, hacker boy? Most ISPs use dynamic IPs that are shared so unless you know someone with access to the logs at that ISP you are SOL.

Unless you have a subpoena for the ISP that IP address is totally useless. Assuming it's a residential or public IP.

That's my point. Not only that but there's likely more than one device or computer using that same IP address at one time. There can be hundreds of others using your same IP address actually depending on the ISP. They use NAT and sometimes ipv6 so they don't have to have a dedicated public IP for every user. The ISP would track devices and modems by MAC addresses so even if you subpoena'd them they'd have to do some digging and then they'd likely return a list of MAC addresses and account owner names that match.

An ISP can always tell you what node in their range is generating traffic.

If you mean traced to YOU or a specific sender:
If you set up a fake account without any connections to a google sign on or apple, so on and so forth, not a chance. Unless you get a court order for the server. Then that really can't be traced to you if you set up a fake account.
Best way to send an e-mail not traceable to you is to create a bunk account at a public computer or a hotel, then send away. Of course, if you are being investigated for terrorism or murder, they can check times etc and compare with any cameras that might be in the public location. Basically, set up a fake account and do not connect it with a google account, apple, and you are good to go.

Alright this is how you do it. Steal a car, preferably a late model civic or impala. drive said car 151 miles away to the nearest corner store that doesn't have cameras. LEAVE ALL CELLPHONE, GPS, & ID at home. Purchase prepaid smart phone using CASH only. get back in car drive back to hometown, but don't go home. park outside hometown library. activate cellphone. using wifi, use several proxy sites to go to Guerrilla Mail and make a throw away email.
Once all these steps are complete you will have an untraceable email to sign up your jack'd account on.
