We try to use ours at least once a month. But we have a great campground about 45 minutes from home that's 20 minutes from work so that makes it a little easier.

We’ve had our 5th wheel since 2021. We used it a lot the first couple years. Last year we took it to the Smokies and that was it. This year we’ve been on one trip so far and a few more planned in the fall.

I'm in the same boat now. We actually went look at some yesterday and I found one at Gauthiers that I really like, but I still can't convince myself to pull the trigger. We've been looking at renting and may go that route, but it's so damn expensive even for just a weekend after the fees and insurance.

We bought a small TT last year 21ft Rockwood. We love it.
We try to go about once every 4-6 weeks. Mostly within 3 hours. Fountainblue, Little Black Creek, Buccaneer, Bogue Chitto. We tend to stay on the East side cause it keeps us from going through BR during traffic.
Bought some Ebikes and do alot of riding and such. Also do alot of chilling and cooking.
Biggest tip I can give anyone, spend a little money and get you a comfortable mattress. We had our old Queen in storage and put that in the camper. Best move ever.
At some point, we will probably upgrade to a smaller 5th wheel.
Plan is once we retire in a few years, taking off for about a year and seeing the sights.

We had a cargo trailer for years that I fixed up and put tie downs everywhere and used for camping with cots and could also haul atvs and shite to the lease.
Cheap to pull and had an AC, cabinets and a sink. Portable toilet for night time. It was awesome. Easy to come home and blow out with a blower and put up. Used it for everything.
When I sold it a guy who wanted to use to haul smokers bought it. I figured worse case scenario a lawnmower guy or someone would buy it to haul shite.
I'd do it again in a second. Very utilitarian. I put etrack on the floor and walls. We spent the entire time outside anyway. Think of it as a hard sided tent with AC

We have been on the road in our Airstream since March 19. We despise RV parks and have only stayed 3 nights in all 91 days.
Harvest Host and Boondockers Welcome has totally changed the way people “camp” these days. We stay at wineries, breweries, farms and with BW we stay on other campers property.
We also really like state parks, county parks, national forests etc.
