My two daughters got into it at the last trip to WDW. I started looking on line, these people are crazy dropping $$$'s on individual pins.

I have an Order of the Red Banner pin. After the Cold War ended, they were selling shite like that in flea markets all over Europe.

Is this like the Hard Rock pins idea rehashed 20 years later?

I remember people would buy the fakes online like 20 for $10 and trade them with workers at Disney( prices at like 5.99+ each) They can't deny trades.

I dont think they are fake, just VERY common. That's what we did. I bought each daughter 50 pins each for about $15. Thy are about $1 each at the parks. They traded everyone of the commons.

My oldest got a super rare one that no one on line knows anything about. She had me put it on eBay so she can buy more. Starting bid is $50

Never did because it's a black hole of money spending. The pins aren't cheap at all. Glad I stayed out of it.

Yours may not be, but there are plenty of fakes out there on eBay. The Disney pin trading fan websites have guides on how to spot fakes. It's actually a pretty big problem for pin collectors. But they're usually counterfeit....not a design that no one has seen before.

Your last trip to Disney must have been in 1987 because you can't buy shite in a Disney park for $1.

We have 3 lanyards with about 8-10 pins on them each. We aren't collectors but when we are in a Disney park we will do some trading. More for the added experience than any sort of collecting. My son normally buys a new pin or two while we are at a park.

You will see these people at the parks with their big books filled with pins trading with the workers. Those people be crazy.
