Tore mine running back in 2015. My knee swelled up like a softball. Stayed off it two weeks. Began running barefoot on grass from August through November. It still clicked and popped but never locked. Started regular road running in November and it only hurts when it's cold outside. No surgery for me unless totally necessary.

Pretty sure I tore mine dong squats a month ago. Doesn’t hurt normally. Hurts PEI marily when walking down stairs.

My research says the results from PT vs surgery are about equivalent. So if you are diligent on exercises, then maybe you can avoid the cost & pain is surgery.

I’m hoping to run and workout again in another month or so.

2015, right knee lateral tear at the anterior horn. Pretty painful but manageable by walking around like a gimp and gobs of ibuprofen. That was until the torn flap of the horn folded onto itself, I saw stars. Had surgery and about and 8 week recovery time. No issues and the 'repaired' knee feels better than my left one. Would do again.

Tore mine about 4 years ago. The pain sucked so I finally had it scoped on Dec 23 went to PT 1 time and they told me there was no need to come back. I was only down 2 days then I was back to normal.

My wife had hers done last year and it took her 3 months to fully recover.

I don't think she would recommend it but I would.
