I had to replace multiple windows in New Orleans East because they kept breaking in. Finally I just left my door unlocked and nothing valuable in there. Eventually my car was stolen so that didn't work either.

I would take Latoya over Sharon Westin Broome any day. What a sad day that forces me to admit that.

Someone needs to develop an exploding bait gun. All they are looking for is weapons.

The poster never mentioned demographics. Simply stated, liberal run. Don’t bring unnecessary things into the conversation.

Property crime is out of control in every major city right now
Cops don’t give a shite and the new liberal prosecutors don’t want to prosecute property crime unless it’s north of $5000. Criminals know this and do what they want.
We know who commits most of it in BR and Nola. I wonder if the massive homeless problem/heroin epidemic is to blame? I know property crime is rampant in cities like SF and Seattle.

There has always been homeless people. So probably not that much of an impact.
Heroin and opioid epidemic has to be a huge part of the issue.

I don't ever remember seeing the amount of homeless people that we are seeing now.

The amount is higher but the problem isn’t new. That is my point.

The guy who owns Merchant here in BR (and Juniors on NO) lives in Lakeview had this happen recently and said on social media it happens nearly every day to people in the area.
True story. It’s one of the big reasons my family and I decided to move from Lakeview after living there for 5 years. The crime combined with what you get for your tax dollars made it a no brainer. Haven’t missed it for a moment since leaving.

Sadly booby traps are frowned upon.
I agree though. Get a gun, build it to explode on trigger pull, will at least knock the criminal out of commission.
NOPD response time is so bad I can't believe that guy said less than 1 hour.

When you live in a house believe it.
Dude you live in Kenner, you parked in a free parking lot and got your windows smashed. You’re not high on their priority list.
Eta: do a little research and response times are under an hour. Some are under 30 min
Sorry you had to wait in your free parking lot for over an hour

New Orleans is basically a third world country.

I never called the cops when mine was broken into. This was before everyone had cameras so I didn't really see the point.
I'd probably only call them now if I had clear footage of the thief or to report a stolen firearm (which I don't leave in my vehicle). I'd be willing to bet 95+% of those reported go unsolved or even investigated.

I had a gun stolen about a year ago, they didn’t bust my windows but they had a unlocking device that manipulated my remote lock, alarm still went off and NOPD was there in 20 minutes.
Last time they broke windows and alarm went off and NOPD was there less than an hour.
Both incidents were caught on camera
We’ve had other incidents on our street and I dont ever recall anyone around here waiting “hours” or “days” for someone to show up.
The 2nd District is one of the best police districts in the city

You're full of shite.
You just like to be edgy on here like the shitshow you pulled in the Plauche thread. Sad you weren't banned for that.
You're the exception in district 2, not the rule. Of course some areas have better response than others.
They don't know where the frick I live when I call the police. (For a vehicle crime) They don't ask your home address. Dumbass.
Oh a free parking lot, yeah that was a mistake I didn't make again for basketball games.
So fricking what, I was in the city and response was shite.
Response in NOLA IS shite. In kenner I actually get something for my tax dollars. My streets are nice, my sewage works, i don't have to boil my water every other week, and I don't get buttfricked on high taxes.
Oh and response time is five minutes or less.
You live in a cesspool.
.. and you're doing your part arming thugs, dumbass.

I'll occasionally have one in my vehicle when I'm going to the range or the camp but I do my best not to leave one in there. I don't want to contribute to arming some local thug.
I see that shite on Nextdoor almost every week. I had a pistol stolen out of my vehicle and I forgot to lock the door.

I had just come home from the camp that day. I had it on my hip when I got in the truck and took it off and put it in the console. I forgot to take it out when I got home that evening.
Just so happens they hit me that same night, it’s like they knew it was in there
