There are a lot of studies that show gender-affirming care lowers the risk of suicide vs those who don’t receive gender affirming care.
If you look at this as a mental disorder, then lowering chances of suicide is a good outcome. There is very little evidence telling people they’re crazy and just want to diddle kids and they’ll never be anything other than what their XY chromosome dictates, is an effective treatment.
It’s unlikely any treatment will completely eliminate the risk of suicide among people with a genuine issue with their body of this magnitude.
also, we are comparing it to AN, they suicide rate among people with chronic anorexia is 56x that of the general population.
