Even with the terrible finish, Sting v Hogan and the nWo was tGOAT.
The real Sting is too nice of a guy to fight for himself when it comes to booking. He let that atrocity happen and agreed to get pinned by HHH in his only Wrestlemania match. Damn shame.

Are y'all familiar with the story that Bischoff and Hogan decided not to put the Stinger over cleanly at Starrcade because he "wasn't tanned enough," that night?! It makes what happened all the worse.
Dude had been hiding in the shadows for damned near a year. Why the hell should he have been tanned?!

Yea I've heard it....Bischoff says it's bullshite....I can't force myself to believe that is why.
The root of the issue was Hogan's creative control and the fact that he didn't want to lose clean to Sting because he thought it would have been the beginning of the end of his career resurgence aka the NWO. That shows you how out of touch with the business he was by 97....that loss would have helped the NWO in so many ways. At least that's my opinion based on everything out there.

I must be misremembering, LSU316, as I thought I heard the story about the Stinger's poor tan straight from Bischoff's lips on 83 Weeks.
In hindsight, it's ironic that the inability to put the babyface over cleanly on the company's biggest stage began WCW's downfall. The NWA was snake-bitten by countless "Dusty Finishes" in its heyday.

Imo, Sting's best WCW feud was with the Great Muta.

I could be wrong but I thought he went with it as a joke then said it was bullshite.

Shittiest finish in the history of pro wrestling.
Hogan was real piece of shite when it came to backstage politics and I don't feel bad for anything that happens now to him. Karma is a motherfricker.
Just couldn't let someone go over cleanly. So glad when HBK oversold.

It makes you wonder how McMahon was able to coax Hogan into putting Warrior over, clean as a sheet, at Mania 6, considering Hogan was still popular as hell, back then.

Watch it again, that was not a 'clean' finish. Hogan kicks out right after the third count and is on his feet before the Warrior has even started his celebration.
ETA: He got the three count fairly but Hogan just couldn't give someone else their moment.
