I spend as much time as possible with my son. Even at two, we do a lot of 'masculine' things together and my son is turning out to be quite the baw. We go fishing quite a bit, ride fourwheelers, check out women at Rouses, etc. Looking forward to hunting with him in a couple years.

He seems to gravitate towards my wife for the nurturing stuff and towards me for the fun and guy stuff.

Baws, stock up on sluts now because this surge in good dadsmenship is going to make sluts a scarce commodity soon.

This.
My dad(and many like him I grew up around) were taught to be manly men. Fck that. My dad told my mom that she was to raise ne until I was two and then he would start helping out. Of course he would come home and read the paper or watch tv while waiting for dinner and it wasn't until way later in wife that he would help with dishes.

I have great memories of taking a turn feeding my kids a bottle at night while my wife got some much needed rest. Changed diapers my share as well.

And don't even get me started on how much I have enjoyed going to plays and performances of everything for my son and daughter, including church stuff.

Good luck getting an old school man's man to do that.

And yes, we fish a lot, kill squirrels and rats in the back yard, play sports, etc.

I'm sorry, but this is so stupid it hurts. Implying an inverse relationship between being a good dad and being masculine?

Exactly.

It's anecdotal but I'm a stay-at-home dad 3-4 days a week and I'm a hardcore disciplinarian. Our kids don't listen to their mother at all. They do everything I tell them the first time I tell them. My background is in construction, I have a large garage that is packed to the rafters with tools and we don't pay anybody to take care of or repair anything around our properties or our cars.

I don't see how these things are mutually exclusive as the article implies. Maybe I'm an outlier but I'm not even sure that's the case. I look around and I see a lot of pale, soy-boy millennials that are really into their kids but still tinker around in traditionally male-dominated hobbies like working on old cars, firearms or are into the back to the land movement, participating in agriculture.
