As a "jumpmaster" you should recognize that THEIR jumpmaster failed them....
Their entire training program failed them. The only time they could have addressed proper actions in the aircraft was during pre-jump. Once they are going off the ramp you cannot interfere with their actions upon exit unless you want to cause further safety issues.

It is clear those are not US paratroopers. They are very (VERY) poorly trained.

Let me know. Would enjoy it. We are going to be here through at least May of next year and then make the decision to stay here or move back to our house in Fayetteville (outside of Fort Bragg). Really love it here.

We're deciding whether to spend the winter after Christmas in Florida or NC (sister is in Raleigh area and have a lot of friends around Lejeune).

I definitely still prefer Montana, but if I could get 300+ acres on the Gulf somewhere, I might change my mind.

I was coscom rigger from 97-2000. Five or six of us are getting together in Tampa later. Would love to have you join us for drinks.

One of the guys in my squad swapped MOS’s and became a rigger. He should have been in COSCOM about that time. His last name was Hale, you may have known him.

He went on to spend the rest of his career jumping and became and Airborne test force jumper at Yuma proving grounds.

Would enjoy that. If you have Twitter you can reach me there through DM. Or I can post an email address.

Being the social recluse that I am (in real life), I probably would prefer Montana too. But I am not about that cold weather.

"Towed paratrooper-is that a black mark for the jump master"

No, it's a black mark for the Parachute rigger

My best friend from NGC was a towed jumper is SF school, with a full load and had to be strapped to the outside of the plane for the landing. Normally they cut the main line and let the jumper deploy their reserve or they pull you back in the aircraft. He was bleeding too much to be cut and he weighed too much to be pulled back in.

That's why we generally spend fall and winter in Florida.

Damn, Bawlonel. You can put that boat in, and be on the redfish in aboot 20 minutes, from launch if you stay in FL. If you sell your FL house, it is worth almost $300k more than you paid for it, and Pocohontas will want that money.

We really want to stay. But we came from Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio) to Central Florida with the intention of this being my terminal (retirement) assignment. After that we would move back to our home in North Carolina (which is nearly paid off). Hence we never purchased a home here. So we are definitely in a quandary, waiting for the market to re-adjust.

Don't forget the front enders. I was lucky and never had any real malfunctions or injuries out of the 8-12K folks I've dropped.
